My mother's is archived under a number. We reorder it every Eid.
The opening — bright, volatile and gone quickly. Bergamot, pink pepper, green fig, cardamom. Their job is to make you look up; they are never the reason you buy a bottle.
The character of the perfume, and where most of a bar session is actually spent. Taif rose, jasmine sambac, saffron, suede. Change one gram here and the whole fragrance becomes a different person.
What is left on a scarf the next morning. Oud, sandalwood, ambergris, white musk, vetiver. These are the most expensive materials on the bar and the reason Arabian perfumery lasts the way it does.
